Susan F. Sasse
As the new principal at Pines Lakes Elementary, I feel fortunate to be joining the PLE family as we celebrate 35 years of Panther Pride. I am excited to meet the students, staff and families and start a new school year together!
I would like to share a little bit about myself with you. I live in Pembroke Pines with my husband (also an educator) and our two sons. This opportunity to lead Pines Lakes is a homecoming for me. Although I come to Pines Lakes with a variety of experiences at other elementary schools in our District, this is the first occasion I will have to work at a school in my own city. I feel like Pines Lakes is just the right place for me to continue my career!
As a parent myself, I want you to know that I genuinely care about children and their families, which motivates me to work hard. I am passionate about education and committed to supporting the learning of all students. I know we will work together to continue ensuring a safe, positive environment and support all students in their academic and social growth.
I value the role that parents play in the education process and recognize the importance of open communication. To that end, I always welcome communication via email, telephone or in person. My approach and philosophy include making connections with students and their families. I will rely on being a visible presence in the school as I acquaint myself with all the stakeholders at Pines Lakes.
A new principal presents many opportunities to move forward. However, a new beginning alone cannot bring transformation. We must be willing to embrace change and trust that it will be what is best for the students and the school. We have the opportunity to bring about such a change. I ask that we all work together to collaborate and continue to strive for excellence. I find the words of Henry Ford very appropriate to reflect upon: "Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success!"
In the very near future a Principal Meet and Greet will be announced and advertised for our school community to get to know me better. I look forward to meeting our Panthers then, and in the meantime hope you enjoy a wonderful summer!
